Clogged air filters are the most common reason for HVAC airflow problems. Air filters need to be closely monitored and changed as needed. They can quickly become clogged up with dust, mold, pet dander, pollen, and outdoor pollutants. The entire AC system could even completely stop working because the filters no longer operate as intended. In general, it is best to check filters frequently and change them about every 3 to 4 months.

2-Debris on the Outdoor Unit

Your air conditioner’s outdoor unit is vulnerable to debris. Outside elements such as dust and shrubbery can affect the operation of your air conditioner’s outdoor unit. If there isn’t plenty of space around it, the outdoor part of your HVAC unit may have to work harder than intended to keep your home comfortable. As a result, the unit could overheat.

3-Low Refrigerant Levels

Low refrigerant levels in your HVAC system will result in reduced cooling and a lack of air blowing through the vents in your home. This issue is usually caused by a leak in your air conditioning system. The leakage could be caused by holes and cracks in your AC coil. A buildup of corrosion could be the culprit as well as the ill effects of lack of AC maintenance, which is why regular maintenance is so important.

Contact your trusted HVAC expert to refill the refrigerant. the levels need to exactly match those specified by the manufacturer of your HVAC system.

replace faulty thermostat, bartow fl4-Faulty Thermostat

HVAC airflow can be adversely affected by a malfunctioning or incorrectly calibrated thermostat. You can check yourself whether this is the problem you are experiencing with airflow. If you have a battery-operated thermostat, check the batteries. If the batteries are fine, open the cover and look for debris and dust. Remove grime inside the thermostat with a soft brush.

To check on calibration, place a glass thermometer next to your thermostat. Check the reading of both after 15 minutes. If there is a difference of more than one degree, the thermostat needs to be calibrated.

5-Blockage of Vents

The cause of problems with HVAC airflow could simply be that vents have become blocked. It could be that furniture is in front of one or more vents. Or you may have forgotten that vents were closed at one time and never reopened. There is no need to be uncomfortable in your home during the heat of scorching summers. If you run out of troubleshooting tips, contact HVAC professionals without delay for an HVAC diagnostic report.
